Data conversion & RF boards

The Athena SoM is a Direct-RF system-on-module, based on the Altera® Agilex™ 9 AGRW027 FPGA SoC.

Its main advantage lies in its ultra-high-speed data conversion capabilities, with integrated 64 Gsps 10-bit ADCs and DACs, combined with an analog bandwidth of up to 36 GHz. This unique integration enables designers to handle demanding RF applications directly on chip, reducing system complexity, improving latency, and delivering unprecedented performance for advanced embedded systems.

The module integrates high-speed DDR4 memory and 56 Gbps PAM4 transceivers, making it a powerful and compact solution optimized for real-time, bandwidth-intensive applications. Leveraging a system-on-module approach simplifies design cycles and accelerates time-to-market, while ensuring reliability through pre-validated and production-ready components.

Target markets of the Athena Agilex™ 9 Direct-RF SoM include Phased-Array Radar Transmitter/Receiver systems, Electronic Warfare (ESM/ECM), Broadband Communication, Target Radar Simulator/Generator, and Airborne embedded systems.

The AV155 is a high-performance solution in our portfolio of Ultra Wideband Radar, ECM, and SIGINT systems, built on a rugged, conduction-cooled platform.

This 3U VPX board is powered by the AMD Versal™ RF VR1652 or VR1952, delivering exceptional processing capabilities for the most demanding applications. It features 4 or 8 channels of 32 Gsps 14-bit ADC (depending on the model) and 8 channels of 16 Gsps 14-bit DAC, with an analog bandwidth of up to 18 GHz. An ultra-low jitter clock synthesizer ensures precise timing, with support for both external and internal sampling clock references.

Designed in full compliance with the SOSA™ standard, the AV155 guarantees seamless interoperability across radar, electronic warfare, and communications systems, supporting smooth integration with diverse communication protocols and user-defined I/Os.

The board also includes 3×32-bit 64 Gb DDR5 memory running at 8533 Mbps LPDDR5X, providing ample bandwidth for real-time signal processing and high-speed data operations. Its conduction-cooled design makes it ideal for deployment in harsh environments.

The AV155 is perfectly suited for applications in Phased-Array Radar Transmitter/Receiver systems, Electronic Warfare (ESM/ECM), Broadband Communication, Target Radar Simulation/Generation, and airborne embedded systems, addressing the needs of the most demanding markets.

This development set up is fully compatible with our SOSA™ -aligned AV153 and AV155 boards, allowing you to start building and testing your applications right away.

The AV150 is a component of our line of High-Speed data conversion and signal processing solutions, which adhere to the VITA 47, VPX standard.

Fully compliant with the OpenVPX standard, the AV150 supports a variety of communication protocols, including PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet and Aurora, as well as a large number of user-defined I/O.

The AV150 combines four 14-bit 3 Gsps ADCs and four 16-bit 6/12 Gsps DAC with ultra-high processing power delivered by an AMD Virtex™ Ultrascale+™ FPGA (VU7P/VU9P/VU13P).

AMD Virtex™ UltraScale+™ FPGAs provide the highest performance and integration capabilities in a 14 nm/16 nm FinFET node. In addition, they offer the highest transceiver bandwidth, highest DSP count, and highest on-chip and in-package memory available in the UltraScale™ architecture. Virtex™ UltraScale+™ FPGAs also provide numerous power options that deliver the optimum balance between the required system performance and the smallest power envelope.

Target markets of this AV150 VPX board include Phased-Array Radar Transmitter / Receiver, Electronic Warfare ESM /ECM, MIMO and Wideband Communication.

The AV145 is part of our range of High-Speed data conversion and signal processing solutions based on the VITA 46, VPX standard.

The AV145 is fully compliant with OpenVPX standard, accommodating various communication protocols such as PCIe, SRIO, 1 Gbit and XAUI 10 Gbit Ethernet, as well as non OpenVPX adopted standard such as Aurora.

The AV145 includes one AMD Zynq™ Ultrascale+™ RFSoC GEN 3 XCZU47DR with the minimum external resources for low power applications.

The AV145 features eight channels 14-bit 5 Gsps ADC and eight channels 14-bit 9.85 Gsps DAC with optimized analog performances, making it ideally suited for embedded signal processing applications such as Electronic Warfare, Wideband Radar Transmitter/Receivers or Wideband Communication applications.

The AV145 features one internal ultra-low jitter reference and two clock synthesizers and can be used with external reference for higher flexibility.

The AV145 AMD Zynq™ Ultrascale+™ RFSoC XCZU47DR provides an impressive processing capability of more than 5.5 TMACs (Multiply Accumulate per second), four 1333 MHz Arm Cortex-A53 cores, one 512M64 or 1G64 DDR4-2400 SDRAM memory for data processing, two 2 Gb synchronous FLASH memory for program boot and one 1TB NVMe embedded SSD.

The AV145 provides one GbE, one UART and one USB 2.0 interfaces.

The AV145 comes with an embedded Linux and all necessary cores to build user FPGA applications.

The AC103 is a 3U VPX desktop chassis with a 3 slot, 1″ slot pitch, OpenVPX BKP3-CEN03-15.2.9-3 backplane designed for development, test and commercial application deployment.

The AC103 backplane supports Rear Transition Modules (RTM) with access to all VPX P2 signals.

The chassis features a 600 W power supply and strong fans for adequate cooling capabilities

The AC104 is a 3U VPX 19” rackable chassis designed for development and deployment.

The AC104 is able to support up to 12-slot backplane with a 1″ slot pitch.

The AC104 backplane supports Rear Transition Modules (RTM) with access to all user defined VPX signals.

The chassis features a 1,200 W power supply and strong fans for adequate cooling capabilities.

Support for Conduction Cooled modules can be provided on demand.

The AV143 is part of our range of High-Speed data conversion and signal processing solutions based on the VITA 46, VPX standard.

The AV143 is fully compliant with OpenVPX standard, accommodating various communication protocols such as PCIe, SRIO, 1 Gbit and XAUI 10 Gbit Ethernet, as well as non OpenVPX adopted standard such as Aurora.

The AV143 combines one dual channel 12-bit 3.2 Gsps / single channel 12-bit 6.4 Gsps ADC and one dual channel 12-bit 3.2 Gsps / single channel 12-bit 6.4 Gsps DAC with ultra-high processing power delivered by AMD Virtex™ Ultrascale+™ FPGA, making it ideally suited for embedded signal processing applications such as Electronic Warfare, Wideband Radar Transmitter/Receivers or Wideband Communication applications.

The AV143 features an internal ultra-low jitter reference and one clock synthesizer and can be used with either external clock or external reference for higher flexibility.

The AV143 includes one AMD Virtex™ Ultrascale+™ VU13P FPGA for an impressive processing capability of more than 19 TMACs (Multiply Accumulate per second), two 1G64 DDR4-2666 SDRAM memory for data processing and 2 Gb synchronous FLASH memory for multiple firmware storage. The AV143 can also be fitted with one AMD Virtex™ Ultrascale+™ VU7P or VU9P FPGA.

The AV143 provides a USB 2.0 interface and a USB to UART interfaces intended to be used for system monitoring and supervision.

The AV143 comes with complete software drivers for Windows and Linux. An FPGA Development Kit is provided including all necessary cores to build user FPGA application.

The AV153 is a cutting-edge solution from our range of Ultra Wideband Radar, ECM, and SIGINT systems, built on the robust VITA47 ECC3 VPX standard.

This 3U VPX board delivers exceptional performance, featuring 8x 10-bit ADCs and DACs, each capable of reaching up to 64 Gsps, and supporting an analog bandwidth of up to 20 GHz, making it ideal for the most demanding applications.

Designed in full compliance with the SOSA standard, the AV153 ensures compatibility with various communication protocols, such as PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, and numerous user-defined I/Os. This alignment with SOSA enhances the interoperability of radar and electronic warfare systems, promoting smoother integration and better collaboration across components.

The AV153 is also equipped with an Altera® Agilex™ 9 SoC FPGA with Direct-RF technology. This advanced feature delivers both high-performance processing and direct radio frequency capabilities, enabling seamless integration between FPGA-based processing and RF operations.

This VPX board is perfectly suited for applications in Phased-Array Radar Transmitter/Receiver systems, Electronic Warfare (ESM/ECM), Broadband Communication, Target Radar Simulator/ Generator, and Airbone embedded systems, targeting a wide range of demanding markets.
