Venus Versal™ RF SFF

Product overview

The Venus Versal™ RF module is a high-performance Small Form Factor (SFF) FPGA module designed for next-generation embedded systems requiring exceptional RF processing capabilities in a compact footprint.

Built around the latest AMD Versal™ RF adaptive SoCs, Venus combines high-speed data converters, powerful programmable logic, embedded processing engines and high-bandwidth memory on a single module.

Supporting up to 16 RF ADCs, 16 RF DACs, analog bandwidths up to 18 GHz, and an ultra-low jitter clock architecture, Venus enables the development of advanced software-defined radio (SDR), electronic warfare, radar, communications and test & measurement systems while significantly reducing integration complexity.

Benefits & features

  • Versal™ RF FPGA
  • up to 16T/16R
  • Analog BW up to 18GHz

Venus is available with several AMD Versal™ RF devices, allowing system designers to select the architecture that best matches their performance requirements.
The Versal™ RF family combines programmable logic with integrated high-speed RF ADCs and DACs, AI-capable processing engines, embedded Arm® processors and advanced networking interfaces. This heterogeneous architecture enables real-time processing of increasingly complex RF workloads while maintaining deterministic performance and low latency.
Coupled with LPDDR5X memory, high-speed transceivers and an ultra-low jitter clock synthesizer, Venus provides the foundation for developing scalable embedded platforms capable of supporting both current and future RF applications.

The form factor of Venus is SFF (Small Form Factor). SFF modules offer an efficient way to integrate cutting-edge FPGA technology into compact embedded systems. By concentrating the FPGA, high-speed memory, RF interfaces, clocking circuitry and power management onto a single module, they significantly reduce carrier board complexity, lower development costs and shorten time-to-market. Their compact footprint also makes them ideal for applications with strict SWaP (Size, Weight and Power) requirements, while providing the flexibility to design application-specific carrier boards.
