Arria® 10 SOM based on Arria® 10 SoC FPGA

Our Arria® 10 SOMs are based on Intel® Arria® 10 SoC FPGAs. FPGAs (field programmable gate arrays) are used to offer high-capacity logic and memory storage, while maintaining a module size suitable for embedded solutions.
All of our modules presented here use an SoC FPGA. The system-on-chip (SoC) is an integrated circuit inside the FPGA, most often a CPU processor (central processing unit), that allows the FPGA to better control the board. The Arria® 10 SoC FPGA combines the flexibility and ease of programming of a CPU with the configurability and parallel processing power of an FPGA.
Unlike PCI-Express, the system-on-module is perfectly suited to embedded and industrial markets.

Arria® 10 SOM benefits

Our Arria® 10 SoC FPGA-based system-on-modules are optimized for embedded markets. Featuring an ARM processor dual-core Cortex-A9 MPCore and up to 660 KLEs of advanced low-power FPGA logic elements, the Arria® 10 SOM has many benefits. These include a small size suitable for the embedded and industrial markets, and high-performance programmable logic microcontrollers with built-in high-speed transceivers.

Arria® 10 SoC SOM boards offer a reduced time to market thanks to the development environment: firmware (FPGA test designs), hardware (board and starter board, kitting) and software codes.

Our Arria® 10 SOM offers primary interfaces, such as several banks of DDR4 memory, I2C and USB links, FMC connectors (with many available LVDS/single ended I/Os), JTAG connectivity, ethernet interfaces. We also deliver all the relevant design rules for our boards, to develop the customer application carrier board (we can also develop it based on customer specifications). We provide online technical support, schematics, and a one-year warranty on the hardware (for debugging and other issues).
